Dianne M. Roling spent several years in the retail and banking industries before earning her degree from St. Louis Community College at Forest Park in 1982, laying the foundation for her successful career in healthcare and medical aesthetics.
From 1982 to 1990, she worked at the Washington University School of Medicine. During that time, she developed professional relationships with physicians and other allied health professionals—relationships she continues to value today.
In 1987, Dianne began her career in electrology after completing her education at the St. Louis Institute of Electrology. She then opened her private practice, Professional Electrolysis Services, LLC, where she built a reputation for providing professional electrolysis and aesthetic services for more than three decades.
Dedicated to continuing education and professional excellence, Dianne completed advanced electrology training at the Jane Riddle Institute of Electrology in 1992 and again in 1998. In 2007, she received private, one-on-one instruction from internationally recognized electrologist Michael Bono at his Santa Barbara, California, residence, where she mastered the renowned Bono Blend technique for vascular blemish removal.
Throughout her career, Dianne attended numerous electrology conferences, seminars, and advanced training workshops, continually expanding her knowledge of the latest techniques and technologies. She also served as a distributor for Clareblend, Inc., a leading manufacturer of professional electrology epilators based in Reno, Nevada, in 2000. In addition, she taught electrology, provided apprenticeships, and mentored practitioners seeking to develop advanced clinical skills until her retirement from active practice in 2020.
Dianne also pursued extensive education in laser technology. She completed a comprehensive 30-hour laser training program in 2001 at LightSpeed in Naples, Florida, attended the 1996 Minneapolis convention on Lasers and Light-Based Devices, and participated in numerous laser workshops and seminars, including specialized training on Lasers and Their Use in Electrology. Her clinical experience includes more than 3 years of performing laser hair reduction using diode and Nd: YAG lasers in a physician-supervised medical practice.
In December 2020, Dianne retired from active electrology practice and founded Medical Aesthetic Supply, an online retailer serving licensed professionals and consumers throughout the United States. The company specializes in non-prescription 10% lidocaine topical anesthetic products, including creams, gels, sprays, combination numbing products, and other aesthetic products for licensed professionals.
Drawing on more than three decades of experience in the medical aesthetics industry, Dianne remains committed to providing trusted products, knowledgeable customer support, and exceptional service. New Electrologists in Our Industry Are Needed
With today’s emphasis on healthful living, the twentieth-century man enjoys being well-groomed and attractive. Many men seek the services of an electrologist for permanent hair removal. Areas of concern for men would include hairlines, eyebrows, beard lines, neck, ears, and nose. Ingrown hairs are a problem for many men, causing constant irritation, and can be eliminated with electrolysis treatment.
Fashion often dictates how much or how little hair is “stylish.” Women have been removing body hair to keep up with the times since civilization began. Electrologists can remove hair from the hairline, eyebrows, ears, the top of the nose, cheeks, sideburns, upper and lower lips, chin, throat, neck, shoulders, back, chest, breasts, abdomen, arms, legs, bikini line, hands, feet, toes, and fingers.
Electrolysis can be performed on any hair type or skin type. We do not treat the inside of the ear canal or the nose. Electrologists can treat hairy moles with a doctor’s permission. It is safe to treat pregnant women with their physician’s approval. Still, electrolysis should not be performed on the breast and abdomen after the sixth month of pregnancy due to tenderness and possible hormone stimulation.
Dianne advises anyone seeking a career in the electrology industry: “Since laser hair reduction cannot target and work for all hair types, the need for electrologists coming into the field is great. The best schools are on the coasts; many smaller schools did not survive the student shortage when laser hair reduction first began. The need for new students entering the electrology industry ensures our profession survives.”
